Iggy Loo – Book Review

Iggy Loo

I had the absolute pleasure of reading Iggy Loo by Maria Ashworth.

Iggy Loo, is a children’s holiday book about a little penguin in a snow globe who yearns to get out and experience the world around him.  Every year a special little red-headed girl delights in shaking Iggy Loo’s globe until one day something happens that allows him to be free!  As the years pass by Iggy Loo watches the little girl grow into a woman who in turn passes Iggy Loo down to her own daughter.  The ending of the book will leave you with a warm fuzzy feeling in your heart!

This book, I literally love it to pieces.  It speaks to me because it tells the tale we are all so familiar with.  You know, the grass isn’t always greener on the other side, tale?  We have all been to a place in our lives where we are happy and then long for more and get it only to find we miss the way things used to be.  How lovely of Maria to put this so simply and beautifully into a children’s book with a very happy ending.  It teaches a valuable lesson to children and adults alike and can lead to great talking points with your child afterward!  The illustrations by Sunny are beautifully done as well.  The book comes to life as each page is turned.  I highly recommend this book to parents and educators alike!

I did receive a copy of this book for free so that I could read it.  My opinions and choice to review it are by my own accord and were done so because I loved the book so much!

Peace, Love and Blessings,

Lesley
